 It's worth changing; I need to be able to know when 404'ing articles are
 being viewed, so that we can prioritise redirection strategies and fixes.

 If we had a more sophisticated setup, we could do this via a dataLayer,
 but, this is the quickest/easiest approach which doesn't require
 significant engineering.

 Also, "Wikipedia does it this way" doesn't make it good practice ;)
