 Generally speaking, opening links in a new tab is not recommended for
 accessibility reasons.

 These don't seem to be links that should be opened in a new tab, as they
 are not context sensitive to the showcase page, and there is no issue with
 logging out the user from a session since the showcase has no such user
 input from logins.

 If you want to open links in a new tab, you have that option in your
 browser, using things like OPTION or CTRL clicking, as well as middle
 clicking. This choice should be left to the user, not determined by the
 site.
