 This trac is for tracking bugs and tickets relating to the wordpress.org
 website itself, not for the WordPress software.

 However, to answer your question, the read more tag will not show up on
 individual post pages, only on combined pages with many posts, like the
 "main blog" page. Basically, the read more tag shows the read more link on
 pages where more than one post is displayed. On the individual post page,
 the whole post is displayed.
