 Hi @pierstincknell, welcome to Meta Trac.

 The submission page doesn't do a very good job of showing errors
 unfortunately. The script that verifies that submissions actually run
 WordPress looks for generator tags in either the site's head or in its
 feed. It doesn't look like those are present on either site.

 I'd suggest to just not hide those and try again. :)
