FWIW, per the [https://make.wordpress.org/core/handbook/best-practices
/commit-messages/ core contributor handbook], the Core Team now tends to
give props to reporters of valid bugs regardless of further participation:
> In the case of bug reports, props should also be given to the reporter
of the bug.

> Err on the side of giving props liberally. Props provide major
encouragement for contributors.
