 @danieltj I'd say it's massively user-unfriendly to have to have a guess
 at a slug in order to find and install a plugin that you know exists.

 @Otto42 I actually disagree. Well, partly. If I know the name of a plugin
 that I want to install, I should be able to install it with little hassle
 or effort. Its age or declared compatibility is not always a measure of
 its (lack of) quality.

 I totally understand why you don't want to surface these old plugins. My
 previous suggestion to "show incompatible/old plugins" stands.  I hold
 that people should be able to easily find and install a plugin by name.
