 @DrewAPicture I think that's the intended behavior.

 You can only vote up or down, not cancel your vote after upvoting.

 It's not very intuitive but logical.
 Lets say you voted up and somebody else voted down so the count is 0. Now,
 when you vote down the count goes to -2 because two users have voted down.
