 The function reference in the Codex is being phased out and is in the
 process of being redirected to the official
 [https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/ Code Reference] on the
 Developer Hub.

 Rather than continuing to perpetuate the largely outdated function
 documentation in the Codex, I would suggest you refer to the Code
 Reference: https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/
