 I don't think putting everything in a white box is the best design
 solution here. If we're trying to follow a design language (as mentioned
 above), I think my recent comps are much more closer inline with the
 header that exists across the entire site (a lighter logo against a darker
 background).

 It appears that placing everything in a white box is an attempt to get it
 off the dark background. This being said, I believe we're not designing
 for the problem. As I've mentioned, if there are strong opinions against
 the dark background, let's revert it back to a lighter background.

 Yes, no? :)
