 Hi Linda, you should be able to put any valid URL into that form field.
 The best practice is to upload the slides to your site's Media Library, so
 that you don't have to worry about them going offline in the future.

 Can you please let me know the following information?

 1. Which speaker are you trying to add slides for?
 1. What URL are you trying to put in the field?
 1. What happens when you save the post? Do you get an error message, or
 any other things you wouldn't expect?
