 Are you using the Coming Soon plugin? If so, #859 is related, and may
 solve the issue in a different way.

 If not, how would the code know when the site is live?

 If we prevented the e-mails from going out when the post is published,
 then we'd also need a way to manually trigger the notifications after the
 site is live. That should be possible, though.
