Indeed, in my limited understanding of security, I would welcome some
tightened security rules that would at least prevent beginner users
from creating an "admin" account in the first place. And would force
users to set a "public" name different from their login.
A few days ago, French WP security expert Julio Poitier published this
plugin, that takes care of exactly those problems. It also obfuscates
the author ID number on author pages.
