[wp-hackers] best way for cpt and galleries

the gallery shortcut allows you to specify which attachments are shown
within agallery instance through the include attribute.
3.5's new media dialogue also makes it easy to pick which images to show in
galleries..  so that's probably the best way to achieve what you want
