It just depends. If its pretty basic stuff, WP + plugin is a very viable
solution and quicker to get out the door. Plus its WP ;-) But Magento is
going to have a bunch more purely ecommerce options (but less CMS
features). Plus Magento extensions are kinda like WP plugins, there's a
whole ecosystem there. Example: we have a client that has multiple
warehouses. They require items shipped from closest warehouse, with freight
calculated accordingly. Magento extension available (paid though).

Most experience with WP-eCommerce. Mixed feelings with that.  Next
opportunity will be shopp.
