[wp-hackers] Who to contact in order to take over development of a plugin?

Hi,

I've contacted the author of the File Icons plugin 
(http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/file-icons/) and we agreed that I'm 
taking over development of this plugin (I can send our conversation). 
I'm already a contributor, but I'm  not sure who I need to contact to 
become the lead developer of this plugin? Can someone point me in the 
right direction?

ps: Maybe this question and the answer to it should become part of the 
Development FAQ (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/about/faq/)? AFAIK 
I cannot add this to the FAQ myself.
