Jari,

The biggest part of the problem is the 14,781 plugins in the repository. Are
you going to change all of them? And what about the thousands of private
plugins?

Then add in the 25 million + installs of WordPress out in the wild, are you
going to oversee every single one to make sure they upgrade every single
plugin?

Then of course there are themes with more functional code in them than is
good for them, some of them use this stuff too.
