[wp-hackers] save_mod_rewrite_rules for multisite

Hi,
Function save_mod_rewrite_rules() at line 122 of wp-admin/includes/misc.php
does nothing if the current site is multisite.
I'm trying to implement a plugin that handles some rewrites and they should
be written in .htaccess file.
Is there any other option there?
Shouldn't we put an do_action( 'save_mod_rewrite_rules' ) there until there
is no way to regenerate a htacces multiste?
