[wp-hackers] Custom Role and Custom Post Types

I was able to remove the "Add New" from under posts by running the following
function.  However it did NOT remove the "Add New" from the custom post
type.  It also does NOT prevent someone from manually going to post-new.php.
 Thoughts?

function remove_submenus() {
  global $submenu;
  unset($submenu['edit.php'][10]); // Removes 'Tags'.
}

add_action('admin_menu', 'remove_submenus');
