[wp-hackers] Next/previous links appear post type specific

I’m looking for a simple way to link to the next/previous published post, regardless of the CPT?
Specific Example:
===============
I have 2 custom post types, both of which appear in my main blog/list/query.
The list appears as: Post 1, Custom 1, Post 2, Custom 2, Post 3, Post 4, Custom 3, Post 5.
When I view a “Post”, my next pervious links are always to another Post.
When I view a “Custom”, my next pervious links are always to another “Custom”.
Given that we designed and released CPT long before the CPF debacle, could I please ask what is the code (or codex article link) that shows how to link to the next/previous post from a given query?
Thanks,
Kev
