Thank you for taking your time to put this piece of code together. Can't
get it to work right out of the box, though. With a bit of work, I might
though. Can you tell me a bit more about what files to look for the
relevant code in?

Thank you for that hint - the Front End Editor does indeed look promising,
although it works in a very different way from the "box". Would be nice
with the "suggested tags" but they are not life-saving necessary right now.
Seems I didn't look deep enough when looking for plugins to do what I
wanted to do.
