Ah. Yes, we tried that, and load time certainly was reduced, but it didn't solve the CPU / load averages issue, or RAM maxing out. It helped, but it didn't cure.

And anyway, we can't use that theme for our news site.

But certainly, the theme needs to be look at, I think.
