Hi Gregg,
Just went through a round of learning about performance on
wordpress and I found YSlow! helpful in diagnosing issues. After
fixing a few things that were obvious after seeing yslow's results, I
disabled unused plugins and updated others. But the really big fix
was to use W3TotalCache as it takes care of most of the common issues
in an easy to install way... When I was done, the client's site which
in the beginning was taking 10+ seconds per click was down to <1s in
most cases.
hth,
ken.
