I usually use Adam Brown's incredibly handy hook-finding tool. It can tell
you what hooks are added/removed in a given version along with context about
what file its in and a preview of it in the code:

It hasn't been updated for 3.0 yet but hopefully will be when the final
release is out. Adam Brown, if you're listening, now would be an excellent
time to update it, there will probably not be any new hooks added/removed
before 3.0 comes out.
