[wp-hackers] Slightly O/T: PHP based alternative to LESS/Sass?

I've been looking for a way to incorporate CSS variables into some of  
my WP themes and recently came across LESS (lesscss.org). Right up my  
alley, with one fatal flaw: it's written in and relies upon Ruby to  
function. Feh.

So, has anyone found anything similar for php? Or, alternately, how do  
you handle CSS "variables" in coordination with your WP themes?
