[wp-hackers] creating new menus

Jared:

Menu locations are stored as "theme mods."  There is a function to retrieve locations but not to set them although you can create that function yourself:

$locations = get_nav_menu_locations();

function set_nav_menu_locations($locations) {
	set_theme_mod('nav_menu_locations' , $locations);
}
