>From a personal stand-point I completely agree that 'this should be added to
core' discussions should be kept out of wp-hackers. However, I'm also guilty
of using this list as a way of communicating my thoughts on core additions.
This is for a few reasons:
1) I rather the mailing list format over forums or the Ideas area
2) In my limited time in the ideas section I never saw such skilful and
thoughtful debate over feature additions and their implications as I have
experienced here.
3) Core devs seem to appear on this list far more than on Ideas or the
forums.
On the whole discussion on wp-hackers is far, far better and more thought
out that in other mediums.
I would like to propose we have a mailing list set up for those kind of
discussions. I'm sure many members of wp-hackers are happy to talk about
core additions, and it would be nice to think core devs read those threads
to see what is really wanted/needed 'straight from the horses mouth' as it
were.
And those not interested in core additions etc don't have to subscribe.
Because it would be really sad to lose the great input we get from some of
these guys who are talking about leaving.
