[wp-hackers] Translation problems after automatic plugin upgrade

Hey all,

Some users of my plugin have been reporting for awhile that after  
performing an automatic plugin upgrade, the plugin is no longer  
displaying in their localized language.  The .mo files are indeed in  
their correct location, but they will not load.  Downloading the  
plugin manually and re-uploading the .mo files via FTP fixes the  
problem.

Has anyone else experienced this?  Any idea as to why this might be,  
and how to fix it?
