[wp-hackers] adding array to query vars

Hi,

I would like to add an array to the query variables, but this seems not 
possible using add_query_var filter or at least I haven't found a way to 
do this.

My objective would be to get access to a variable holding all active 
checkboxes and use this to retrieve a set of post based on these 
parameters.

Could someone please explain to me how to add a variable of the type 
array to the WP_Query object? I know it is possible as there are query 
variables of this type such as tag__in
