I will confirm the lack of update issue, the version checker is also case sensitive which had us fooled when we had a lower/uppercase issue in the first line of the README vs SVN..

Lucky for us it was a simple matter of changing the README but it was a pain because none of us could understand why it was not working..

Not sure if you want to call it a bug , but Trac 5115 is valid..
