[wp-hackers] wp-db.php throws errors in new 2.2 install

Hi
have upgraded to WP 2.2,
after standard new install, with default theme, noticed my debugger 
complaining as follows:
\wp-includes\wp-db.php line 204 - mysql_num_fields(): supplied argument 
is not a valid MySQL result resource
\wp-includes\wp-db.php line 209 - mysql_fetch_object(): supplied 
argument is not a valid MySQL result resource
\wp-includes\wp-db.php line 214 - mysql_free_result(): supplied argument 
is not a valid MySQL result resource

I think this is due to the query "SET NAMES..." which returns true, not 
a resource.
Any one else notice this?
