[wp-hackers] Write Post/Page, Why is Upload Tab Not Collapsible?

Other than hacking the Write Post / Write Page, I cannot see any way to make the upload tab, collapsible..

Any reasons why the Upload Tab is not collapsible (with default state, collapsed), it is a serious waste of screen space or if it is possible without hacking to make it collapsible..
