[wp-hackers] Cache solution for WPMU?

Esteemed WP Hackers,

I have been assigned the task to create a WPMU blog network consisting of
over 20 blogs with a cumulative +40K articles. Though challenging at times I
have completed 95% of all the work, however I am now pinned to a wall
staring into a performance/scalability nightmare.

I am looking for a caching solution compatible site-wide with WPMU.

Anyone have any insight on scaling WPMU blog networks?
