That is one of the reasons I went with the EditorMonkey plugin (which is no
longer being maintained). When I have set up a few sites, I have disables
the core TinyMCE by default then put this plugin in - that way they can
easily turn it off if they want. That and it gives a lot more
functions/plugins to the editor as compared to the basic WP TinyMCE.
