Fair criticism. I have blogged about it and turned it off. However I haven't reported any bugs thinking that they were so obvious surely dozens must have already reported them. I will soon report several I have found.

I agree with you. Also TinyMCE is a fair choice to start with. However in my brief excursion into the TinyMCE integration I felt the design was lacking in quite some aspects. I wouldn't mind elaborating if there is an interest on this topic.

Fair enough.
However people on this list who are turning it off because it's "buggy"
are missing the point.
How many trac tickets have you filed before you turn it off? We should
be fixing the bugs, not ignoring them.
We need to make writing as easy as humanly possible, and get out of the
user's way as much as possible. For non-coders -- which is the bulk of
the .com and .org audience -- this means no angle brackets.
