And whilst you're doing that, ask yourself why someone dedicated
enough to Wordpress to produce lucid, clear, useful documentation
(which that most definitely is) would publish it on *their own blog*
instead of thinking "I know, this should go in the Codex". Because
that's rather telling.

Re: tags only appearing in the editor, not in the file: I'd argue
that's a crazy idea, and would lead to ropey parsing and very slow
parsing quite fast. I think the "easy" moniker is, as many have said,
misguided. This conversation for me is about overhauling the
templating syntax, not providing a different perspective on it.
