[wp-hackers] wrapping localization globals into one unit

David suggested that localization globals be wrapped into a global
class or associative array on this ticket:

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I understand the idea that putting all of them into one associative
array would cut several global arrays down to one but the extent of
change and the possible extent of widespread plugin breakage gives me
a reason to pause.

I'm not trying to call you out on this, David, becuase I'm all in
favor of this in general and would be willing to go through and write
a patch to do this. I just want to get the general consensus on the
matter first.
