The other issue with CGI on Apache servers I still struggle to find a
solution for to this day. We could just go back to the iframe hack,
but its disgusting and could cause a page slowdown for a random
visitor, which I don't particularly like the thought of. Another
option proposed on trac is pinging an external site which will then
make a request to the cron file on the pinging site. It could be done,
but this brings up issues with trusting that the server will stay up
(perhaps it could fall back upon iframes so that nothing breaks). I'm
quite perplexed on how to do this on Apache as CGI... I hate broken
envs.
