[wp-hackers] generate_rewrite_rule misbehaving

Hi,

I'm a little confused by the behaviour of the generate_rewrite_rule
function. According to the docs
<http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/WP_Rewrite>, it's
supposed to create a single "no-frills" rule, but when I var_dump the
returned results of it, it seems I'm still getting around 10 rules,
corresponding to trackbacks, multiple feeds, and attachments. (what
the hell are those?)

I feel icky adding 9 extraneous preg_matches to every pageview... is
this a bug or "by design"?
