have they got a custom(or modified default) theme in place? if yes, then

about reverting to the default Kubrick & seeing whether the blog comes
up or
not?
also, check if they've the wordpress files in the same directory from
which they
access it, or is it like that wordpress core is in another directory &
frontend is
in another?
