Incessant problems with comment counts... yes. MarkJaquith and I had to 
fix this on my site the other day. The dashboard was correct in listing 
that I had 332 posts, the Manage > Categories table insisted that I had 
471 posts in the default category. Maybe a re-working of the whole 
comment system would help to cure some of this.
