As has been discussed elsewhere, as admirable a goal as this is all that
actually happens is that as you make WP more extensible more people want
to do more so they ask more - and round it goes :)

For the next version ? Test the hell out of the upgrade - there are an
awful lot of people who experienced problems in this upgrade and the
WSOD as mentioned here before hasn't helped.

Bounty hunt the bugs :)
