You could just have done

  > svn sw http://svn.automattic.com/wordpress/branches/1.5/

which would have moved you over (switch'ed) to the 1.5 branch (with the 
security fix) *and* updated it. (All in one command! How awesome is SVN.)

You'll be able to move back to the trunk whenever you'd like, up in the 
mean time you'll be able to do "> svn up" should 1.5.1.4 come out. 
Pretty slick.
