Yes, that was my initial reaction.  But it sounds much worse than it is,
actually.  I have a patch for doing the modifications, in case you or
anyone else would find it helpful.

I haven't looked at WP2.0 much yet (still trying to get the translation
to Finnish completed first), but I'm hoping there would be enough hooks
now to support a clean plugin approach.
