 Worth noting: the manual approach in the ticket in 8455 is outdated since
 the selector now uses
 [http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_dropdown_users
 wp_dropdown_users()]. I'd also rather only pre-select users with exactly
 matching usernames.
