You could always leave it as a "sticky" and just modify the Title and the information in it, to have it updated. Like, in the first paragraph, have the recent information about the New search, and have the original information, as a "backup" search option. 

I dunno though, I was also even thinking about "maybe" making Matt's thread the sticky..but your's is more information based though.. =)
