If you can create a good theme, then using SEO keywords as the name of the
theme actively hurts its success.

This is because it means that your theme is now difficult to find by name.
People searching for specific themes usually search for their names. If
your theme is named with keywords that are actively used in many other
things, then now your theme doesn't show up when people are actively trying
to find it.

Word of mouth and user recommendations are still the most common ways for
people to find things. Somebody wanting to find a theme will read
suggestions by other people first, they don't strike out on their own
searching for keywords. If this were not the case, then there wouldn't be
so many "lists of good theme" posts on blogs.

Names should be unique and memorable for maximum success.
