[theme-reviewers] Plugin install within theme

Cool, that clears my confusion as I was under the impression that we are allowing the plugin to be included in theme's folder and installed/prompted for install via TGM. Sorry had missed the previous discussion.

But I understand the point and I believe it is better for the plugin to have been approved in to the repository and installed from there.

Bundled: plugin files cannot be included with theme.
The plugin has to exist in the repo in order for it to be downloaded. Who's to say joe somebody uses a github link or external, possibly untrusted, site to the plugin.

Does this mean that the plugin can not be included in say a sub folder of the theme but has to be uploaded to WPORG first? Or by "not bundled" mean not integrated in the theme?

Also: the Plugin *must* be installed from the WPORG directory, and not from an arbitrary, external site.

I'm currently reviewing the Covera Lite theme - https://themes.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/15917 and found that the theme suggests a plugin and also gives the user the possibility to install that plugin from the dashboard with a custom script (functions/plugin-activation.php). 





I was wondering what's the review policy on this, if there is one.
