[theme-reviewers] GPL and limiting usage

Important question I always wanted to ask :

Theme authors that have themes listed in WP directory, do they have to
release other stuff they create like icons/graphics etc under GPL too? Or
can they sell Icons etc under different license?
I am guessing WP plugins have to gpl ?
