[theme-reviewers] About Bootstrap Theme

Yes, The <select> is an excellent way to provide multi level menu support on mobile devices. If Bootstrap was developed by me, I would definitely use <select> and restrict the menu from all the things you mentioned. I build most of my themes on bootstrap, I don't use their menu. I really prefer to build my own.

Hold pressing on a link means hover as far as i know on mobile, while i agree it could be a drag for mobile, it doesnt make much sense especially when they gave up on "multi-level" navigation & switched to 2 level navigation. (technically 2 is "multi" but.. :P )

For mobile users traditional navigations are not of much use anyway, i think we should accept that those are meant for desktop users, and mobile users should just make use of <select> menu.

This is just to reply to emin ozlem's query.
Bootstrap choses to trigger the dropdown only on click, to support the multi-level navigation on touch devices. As we all know, there is no hover on touch screen devices. As we all know, Bootstrap focuses a lot on mobile friendly development, so this feature was essential.

As for 2. my theme did get rejected for making the link inaccesible. So i left the dropdown links clickable, and made it optional to disable the link by adding [dd-ph] string to the menu item or the page title, in order to make it a "dropdown placeholder".

And i changed sub menus to show just on hover, instead of Click. It's beyond me why bootstrap chooses not to show the sub menu unless it's clicked.

For 1, you can re-enable multi-level drop down menu simply by adding the css that has been taken out in v3.

I am planning to submit a Bootstrap theme to the WordPress Directory. I need help on the following points,

1. Bootstrap 3 does not support multiple sub-menus, so will it be **OK** to submit a theme with one level drop down support ?

2. Will the drop-down menu is **OK** with onClick instead of onMouseOver ?

I know above points can be resolved with the change in code, but i want to ship the theme as Bootstrap works.

Looking forward for your answers.
Thanks
