The value of an idea in this context comes from the community's
perspective, not the person making it. Just because you changed your mind
doesn't automatically devalue the idea and make it moot or a mistake.

Credit goes to you for the idea whether you see that as a positive or not,
but once the idea is out it's a collective idea that is no longer your own.

It was never a give and take type proposal. It was something that would
benefit say 50% of theme authors and have no effect whatsoever on the other
50%.

Granted, it's clear this idea was shot down and will never see the light of
day again, this is merely an introspective conversation at this point since
it came up again.
